Waka Racing wins Korea Match Cup Qualifier
Report from Waka Racing, 9 May 2010
On the fourth and final day of the Korea Match Cup Qualifier, conditions weren’t perfect. It was super light, which held us on shore for an hour. Once on the race course it wasn’t any better.
After a long day of drifting around with no racing, the race officer abandoned racing at 3 o'clock. This meant, as top qualifiers in the round robin we were given the regatta victory and entry to the Korea Match Cup 2010. This is a great result for the team but not the way we wanted to win the event.
Our sights are now set on the Korea Match Cup where we plan to take it a step further than last years Monsoon Cup.

Report from William Tiller Full Metal Jacket Racing in Korea, 9 May 2010
Day Four,
Today was the last day of the Korea Match cup qualifier. Unfortunately today there was no wind which meant we spent the entire day bobbing around on the glassy harbour. The race committee tried to get races away but it was not possible. So at the end the regatta, the results were decided by the points counted from the round robin, leaving us second on count back to Phillip Robertson 25th in the world.
All in all it was a well run regatta however a little disappointing not to finish the finals series as there would have been some tight racing.
We are now heading back to NZ for a couple of months before our big regattas in America and Denmark. In this time we will be doing some intensive training as we now know where we need to improve to compete at this higher level.
