The RNZYS Lion Foundation Youth Training Programme is the programme delivering intensive sail training for young sailors in a disciplined environment.  This programme is a breeding ground for Volvo Ocean Race, America's Cup and Match Racing Champions....so are you ready for the challenge?

New Boats: In June 2010 the RNZYS launched a brand new fleet of ten Elliott 7m training boats.  Which are sailed with 4 crew; helm, main, trim & bow. This also offers trainees a wider skill base using both spinnakers and gennakers.

Further information

Criteria: Age 15 - 21 years.

Fee's: Please contact our coaching staff for the current fee schedule. 2013/2014 fee's $1986.25 which includes clothing, RNZYS Junior Membership and GST). With over 60 days of sailing scheduled = approx $30 per day. 

Competitions: Each season the Youth Training Committee supports youth teams to attend various fleet & match racing regatta’s both nationally and internationally.
