The National Bank International Youth Match Racing Championships 2010

The Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron is hosting the annual National Bank International Youth Match Racing Championships next month, 17th – 21st February 2010.
We have entries from the USA (2 teams) Hong Kong, Australia and New Zealand.
As is the norm for these international youth regattas, the host club is expected to offer accommodation for the visiting sailors.
The Sailing Office would dearly love to hear from you if you are able to assist in the regard.
At the 2009 regatta last February, one team was billeted with the family of a recent Youth Training Programme member while another team was offered the use of a small flat owned by a Squadron Member.   The remainder of the crews were housed in boats berthed here at Westhaven.
During this year’s National Bank Youth International Match Racing Championships the Squadron’s annual race to Kawau Island (Squadron Weekend) takes place which means several of the boats we often use for accommodation will be heading north that weekend.
As a consequence, we will be very much dependant on the generosity of families to offer billets etc. for the visitors.
Each team will comprise 3 (sometimes 4) crew members and may also include a coach or team manager.
The Squadron provides breakfast and lunch each day and the sailors also use the facilities here such as showers etc.
If the team manager is over 25 years, the Squadron also offers them a courtesy car (supplied by Giltrap City Toyota) so they can be quite self-sufficient.
