RNZYS VOLUNTEER FORUM

Sunday 11th June | 9am – 11am | RNZYS Quarterdeck

Whether you are a current volunteer, or interested in joining our passionate group of volunteers at the RNZYS, please come along to our first Volunteer Forum!

In keeping with the RNZYS vision to be the leading yacht club locally and internationally, the RNZYS are actively seeking to expand its pool of volunteers. This  includes, race officials, flag personnel, time and record keepers, boat crew members, mark layers and boat skippers to assist ‘on the water’ race management of the Squadrons’ busy racing schedule of over 1000 races and 12000 volunteer hours annually.

The RNZYS relies heavily on utilising volunteer race management teams. These teams run all racing at the RNZYS, from weekend and mid-week club racing right through to national and international championships. This includes the Volvo Ocean Race Auckland Stopover, the elimination and build up series of the America’s Cup (when there is a challenge), international youth events and the annual and renowned Coastal Classic.

You do not have to be an active sailor to volunteer, all training and support is provided through the RNZYS. Volunteering at the RNZYS can be a very rewarding experience, it is great way to  learn the many roles of race management as well as enjoying the camaraderie that comes with being part of a team that has many varied responsibilities. You may have family members or friends who race and through volunteering you can support and participate in the sport.

A light breakfast will be provided for attendees
