2019/20 RNZYS Club Racing Series OPEN for Entry
The RNZYS is pleased to announce all of our Club Racing Series for the upcoming 2019/20 Summer Sailing Season are now open for entry.
We encourage all skippers and boat owners to get your entries in now so you’re ready to go for what is going to be another busy and exciting season.

CLUB MARINE INSURANCE WEDNESDAY SERIES
The Club Marine Insurance Wednesday Series gets underway with race one on Wednesday the 9thof October. There are 10 race days which are held on alternate Wednesday evenings throughout the season, right through to the final race on Wednesday 25thMarch 2020. The series is the biggest sailing series on our summer calendar, with nine divisions and upwards of 100 yachts on the Harbour in every race. Notice of Race and Online Entry HERE
36 DEGREES BROKERS COMMODORES CUP SERIES
The 36 Degrees Brokers Commodores Cup Series is always incredibly popular. Made up of five unique races, the series begins with the Round Rangitoto Race on Saturday 9th November. The next two races are always a must for all Squadron boat owners as they are part of the famous Squadron Weekend celebrations at Kawau Island. These are the Night Race to Kawau on Friday 14th February and the Round Kawau Race on Saturday 15th February, followed by a large party on the lawn at Lidgard House. The series then moves onto the Te Kouma Race on Saturday 29th of February 2020 and finishes with the Haystack Race on Saturday 4th April 2020. Notice of Race and Online Entry HERE
WESTHAVEN TRIPLE SERIES
The Westhaven Triple Series is run in conjunction with the Ponsonby Cruising Club and the Richmond Yacht Club. The series incorporates Commodores Cup Race 1 Round Rangitoto, Commodores Cup Race 2 Night Race to Kawau, and Commodores Cup Race 5 Haystack Race. All Commodores Cup Series entrants are automatically entered into the Westhaven Triple Series.
SPECIAL OFFER
As an extra incentive to get early entries for the Club Marine Insurance Wednesday Series and 36 Degrees Brokers Commodores Cup Series, all Boat Owners/Skippers who enter their yachts with series entries into BOTH series before Monday the 16thof September will receive a $100 RNZYS Bar Voucher.
BARFOOT & THOMPSON LADIES SUMMER SERIES
The Barfoot & Thompson Ladies Summer Series has been growing every year, with twelve all female teams taking part last season. We’re looking to improve on that when the series kicks off on Tuesday 8thOctober 2019. The series consists of ten race nights. The first race is a Harbour course, but the remaining nine nights are made up of up to four Windward/Leeward races per night on the water right outside the RNZYS. Notice of Race and Online Entry HERE
CLUB MARINE INSURANCE CRUISING SERIES
Looking for a more relaxed approach to racing and keen to get away for weekends with other members during the summer? Then the Club Marine Insurance Cruising Series is the series for you! The series consists of six races which will take you to various Island destinations around the Hauraki Gulf. Every race is then followed by a Prizegiving with BBQ and Drinks on the beach. This series is great for bringing your family and friends along, with the emphasis more on fun than serious racing. Notice of Race and Online Entry HERE
STEWART 34 CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES
The Stewart 34 Championship Series kicks off on Monday 7thOctober 2019 and consists of nine race nights. Racing is held every alternate Monday evening with up to four windward/leeward races. Notice of Race and Online Entry HERE
NORTH SAILS YOUNG 88 SPRINT SERIES
Another popular one design series is the North Sails Young 88 Sprint Series. The series starts on Thursday the 3rdof October and is held on alternate Thursday nights right through to the final race night on Thursday the 19thof March. Notice of Race and Entry HERE
HAVANA CLUB RUM RACE SERIES
Havana Club Rum Races are another popular event with more of an emphasis on social fun. There are four Havana Club Rum Race Series’ each year, Autumn, Winter, Spring and Summer, which means there is a race nearly every week of the year. Rum Races are held on Friday afternoons and are non-spinnaker Harbour races. More information and Online Entry HERE
AUCKLAND REGATTA
The Auckland Regatta – Auckland’s premier keelboat regatta – is back in 2020! Don’t miss a superb weekend of sailing designed for sailors by sailors. The regatta includes multiple divisions and will feature longer windward leeward racing & harbour courses. For sailors who don’t have their own boats, the Pacific Keel Boat Challenge is also back and is an invitational fleet racing event for 10 teams from leading Yacht Clubs, Classes or Crews.
