Barfoot & Thompson Bridge to Bean – This Saturday!

We can’t wait to see you on the water this Saturday afternoon for our very special inaugural Barfoot & Thompson Bridge to Bean Race, one of our major RNZYS 150th celebration events. 

We would like to thank you for your support in entering this event and are very excited to say we have over 200 entires taking part this weekend so it is going to be a spectacular race and lot’s of fun to be involved in! 

Key Information to note…

Race Information:

The warning signal will sound at 1255pm, with the race getting underway at 1pm. Please familiarise yourself with the important race documents including the Notice of Race and Sailing Instructions HERE

Prizegiving:

We want to see all of you back in the RNZYS Ballroom for Prizegiving on Saturday afternoon/early evening. The prizegiving will be open from 5pm, with formalities to take place from 6pm. 

We have a huge range of amazing prizes, trophies and more to give out so you won’t want to miss it. We will also be handing out our special Barfoot & Thompson Bridge to Bean regatta T-Shirts, and you’ve got to be there to get one! 

There will be a sausage sizzle on offer and drinks available from the bar for you to enjoy! Families of entrants are also welcome to attend. 

Organisers Briefing – RIBS:

If you are planning on bringing a RIB onto the course, we need you to attend the Organisers Briefing tomorrow night (Thursday 15th April) at 6pm in the RNZYS Commodores Room. We will need to assign some of you to marshal boat duties and hand out battle flags so that you can be identified on the course.

Media Content:

The great team from Live Sail Die will be on the water this Saturday taking photos and creating an epic video from the day, so make sure you smile for the camera! All content will be available to view via the RNZYS and Barfoot & Thompson Bridge to Bean Facebook & Instagram accounts early next week.
