36 Degrees Brokers Squadron Weekend 2023

Join us for the best weekend on the Squadron calendar – the 36 Degrees Brokers Squadron Weekend! Due to potential safety concerns caused by the weather, we have made the difficult decision to return the Kawau Island Race to RNZYS, and host the Squadron Weekend party back at RNZYS. 

Compete in two 36 Degrees Brokers Commodore’s Cup races – the Night Race to Kawau and the Kawau Island Race (now the Kawau to Club) –  over the weekend, alongside our famous Squadron Weekend Party being hosted at RNZYS at Westhaven Marina and the return of the Fishing Competition – there’s always plenty going on at Squaddie Weekend, on and off the water!

Cruise, race, fish and party like it’s Barcelona with us on the 10th and 11th of February 2023.

Squadron Weekend Fishing Competition parameters

  1. Fish must be caught on a handline or rod and reel
  2. Fish must meet minimum recreation catch length per species as approved by NZ Government
  3. Photograph of the fish on the approved measure mat with headboard must be submitted by email to fishing@rnzys.org.nz
  4. If the photograph does not show the full length of the fish, an uncreased measure mat and clear measurement the entry will be disqualified. Photos can only be entered once. All winning entries will be reviewed any eligibility decision made by the tournament holder will be final.
  5. No nets
  6. No Contiki’s
  7. No grenades
  8. Catch must be made after 9am Friday 10th February or before 3pm on Saturday 11th February 2023
