Running events during COVID 19 alert levels – an update from the RNZYS Events Team

When 2021 seems like the year you’ll have to cancel your birthday – again – we hear you. But before you toss your streamers in the bin, we’re here to offer some ideas to help you feeling confident with event planning post lockdown.

Our best advice – plan your event so you can hit go as soon as it can go ahead, and make it the best party you can!

Time at home means you can get that guest list sorted, decide on the fish or the chicken, a live band or a DJ.  You can decide on the venue you want -hopefully us!, drinks or dinner, day or night. Get as much as you can decided NOW so there’s no hesitation on confirming a date – as from our current experience, new dates for the end of this year are booking fast (we welcome your enquiries)!

Keeping in line with making your event as amazing as it can be when it can go ahead, and the popularity of existing lighting décor and DJ entertainment available to RNZYS event clients, our team have collaborated with a variety of suppliers to present new ways to elevate events planned at our venue.

Not only are you able to light your event with chandeliers, fairy lights and pendants, there are now options for custom design fresh florals for each table or above the bar, and lush furniture to accent the existing historic décor that the Squadron is renowned for.

Live entertainers have been added to the list, with beautiful dancers performing ballroom, jazz, latin or even jive, and there are hilarious quiz hosts to keep guests entertained. Guests interested in a Las Vegas theme can have interactive and cashless casino tables, as well as an open air photobooth with props and custom backdrops.

For atmosphere, good music is essential – so in addition to the DJ packages on offer, there are now options for acoustic duos for casual drinks, big bands for dancing, and everything in between.

Theresa, the RNZYS Events Co-Ordinator is loving the expansion of offerings. “It’s my dream to create events that people are talking about for months afterward. These new additions to our event planning have resulted in some fantastic experiences that I’ve loved being a part of”.
