Squadron to Open Under Level Two

 In Member Interest, News, Uncategorised

Dear Members,

The Government have today announced that Auckland will move down to COVID-19 Alert Level Two as of midnight this Sunday 30th August.

This means that the RNZYS will re-open our doors to Members from Monday 31st August, albeit with various restrictions in place.

Some staff have been and will continue to be in the building this week to ensure the club is ready to go for your arrival. This includes a thorough clean of the entire building with a high focus on touch points and bathroom facilities. To ensure you feel safe when you return to use the club, we will have hand sanitizer located all around the building as well as extra soap and handtowels in all of the bathrooms. It is very important that Members continue to wash and sanitize their hands when visiting to help stop the spread of the virus. For more health guidelines click HERE

Signing In

When arriving at the Squadron it is compulsory that you sign in via the Government Covid Tracer App. Make sure you have this app downloaded on your phone. You will see the QR Code clearly displayed at all entrances, as well as around the building and at the entrances to the Members Bar and Quarterdeck.

Alternatively you can sign in using the visitors book at the main and eastern entrances.

Members Bar & Quarterdeck Restaurant

Opening: Monday 31st August | Hours: 12pm – 8pm, Monday to Sunday.

The Members Bar or Quarterdeck Restaurant will be open with table service only, and waiters will attend to specific sections to reduce contact. All tables/groups will be spaced one metre apart and there is a 100 person limit in each venue. Private dining spaces will also be made available.

Please book via:events@rnzys.org.nz

Sailing is Back

We are happy to announce that we can soon go sailing again! Sailing will resume with the Havana Club Rum Race Winter Series on Friday 4th September and Club Marine Insurance Winter Series on Saturday 5th September. We would love to see as many boats back on the water as possible!

Just like last time we were under Level Two restrictions, mandatory precautions such as: crew contact tracing, 10 person crew limits, good hygiene practices and other precautions are compulsory. For more information on this, please see our updated notice to competitors HERE
