World renowned sailing hardware manufacturer and long-time sponsors of the Squadron, HARKEN, have renewed and extended their sponsorship of the RNZYS for another three years.

HARKEN will continue as naming rights sponsors for the Secondary Schools Regatta, Boat Sponsor for the Youth Training Programme Elliott 7, and have also added some more exciting benefits to be unveiled soon.

HARKEN have also confirmed that they will extend their support of Youth Sailing by being supporting sponsors at this year’s 2019 Youth International Match Race Cup. As part of their supporting sponsorship they have offered up an exciting one thousand dollar prize purse for the winners.

RNZYS General Manager Hayden Porter is really happy to have HARKEN on board for another few years – “HARKEN are very big advocates for youth sailing and are the perfect sponsor to have on board to further boost our Youth Training Programme and various youth sailing events on and off the water. Everyone in the sailing world knows HARKEN, how great their products are and how they are at the forefront of technology in their area – so it is a great fit for us to have their continued support here at the Squadron.”

HARKEN New Zealand Managing Director Robbie Young is also very excited to have continued this partnership with the RNZYS and is keen to further improve the quality of youth sailors and events – “It’s a no brainer for us to continue this great partnership we have with the RNZYS. We are very keen to be involved in youth sailing, and the RNZYS Youth Training Programme produce some of the best sailors in the world so we are thrilled to be involved. We’re proud to be supporting the grassroots HARKEN Schools Regatta but also getting involved with the Youth International Match Race Cup is a big bonus for us as it is one of the best and most recognized youth match racing events in the world.”

The RNZYS looks forward to working closely with HARKEN over the next three years, seeing the partnership grow, and reaping the rewards that are shown through youth sailing successes at their events here at the Squadron.
