RNZYS Launch Kiwi Cup – an exciting and innovative new way to support yacht clubs, class associations and sailing teams across the country.

In America's Cup, Emirates Team New Zeland, Member Interest

We’ve been working on an exciting project here at the Squadron launched on the18th April.

We know fundraising is challenging for all clubs, especially so in the current climate. As a club, we wanted to create something that gives back to the wider sailing community across New Zealand and creates an opportunity for all clubs to fundraise. Thus, the Kiwi Cup Raffle was born!

Please take the time to read about this exciting fundraising opportunity. As an RNZYS member, you will be able to purchase tickets to support the RNZYS and go in the draw to a major prize- a trip for two to Barcelona to watch the 37th America’s Cup, including flights, 12 nights’ accommodation and several experiences valued at $35,690.

We encourage you to spread the word to your sailing community, fundraising is open to all sailing clubs, teams (including individuals and schools) and class associations. The more money that is raised for sailing in New Zealand, the more we all benefit.

It’s exciting to see that tickets go on sale tomorrow 1st May and we already have 30+ clubs, teams and associations have signed up to fundraise. Click here to view registered groups.

How it works

The Kiwi Cup Raffle is a unique initiative designed to support yacht clubs across New Zealand, with the support of the RNZYS, Emirates Team New Zealand, Yachting New Zealand and Live Sail Die

The Kiwi Cup Raffle offers tickets for a $20 donation into an amazing prize pool worth over $40,000.

$10 of every ticket sale will go to the nominated club, team or class association.  The other $10 goes to the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron to pay for the cost of the prizes, running the raffle, promotion and marketing, licensing etc. Any surplus once our costs are covered will be used to support our youth activities, including our youth training weeks which attract and benefit sailors from throughout New Zealand.
