Lidgard House – Kawau Island

This historic beach house in Smelting House Bay, Kawau Island is owned by the Squadron and is available for members to rent.  It has recently been refurbished.

Lidgard house can sleep up to eight people in three rooms. One room has a Queen Bed, another 2 x single beds and the 3rd room has 4 x single beds. It is furnished, has a fully-equipped modern kitchen, TV, stereo and washing machine & dryer. Cutlery, crockery and linen are provided, although it is recommended visitors take extra towels. There is a BBQ on the deck which looks out to School House Bay and for those who don’t want to cook, the Kawau Boating Club is just a short walk around the boaties path. You don’t even need to own your own boat to get there, an easy forty minute drive north of Auckland is Sandspit Wharf where you can catch a ferry direct to the wharf at Lidgard House.

Rental Enquiries

Rates: The house tariff is $375 per night for RNZYS Members and $500 for non-members.  (Minimum 2 nights). However rates are subject to change so please check first. The house and garden can also be hired for corporate functions and weddings.

RNZYS Members have first option, up to 5pm, to book the moorings in Smelting House Bay by booking with KBC manager, David on Ph: (09) 422-8845. After 5pm, KBC members have equal rights to use the moorings on a first come basis, if not already booked by RNZYS members.
